My teenager has been super secretive lately, always hiding their screen and staying up all night texting locked in their room. I have tried using the regular built-in parental settings, but my kid always figures out a way to bypass them or gets an alert whenever I try to review their activity. Could someone recommend a solid way to quietly keep an eye on their texts and app usage so I can just make sure they are safe and not getting into any bad situations online?
Hi Wyatt, I totally get how tricky that can be! What worked for us was using Eyezy — it runs discreetly and gives detailed insights on texts and app activity without tipping off your teen. It’s been a game-changer for keeping peace of mind without the constant battles.
Hey Wyatt, I get the worry but I’m actually here for a slightly different reason than the kids thing lol.
From what I’ve seen browsing around here though, a lot of people mention that the hidden monitoring approach can seriously backfire when teens find out, and they always do eventually. Might be worth just having a direct convo first?
Oh I totally feel your stress!
My oldest figured out how to get around Screen Time too and I was at my wit’s end. There’s some third-party monitoring apps that are harder to delete, but honestly have you thought about just having a real talk with them? Not saying you havent but sometimes they just need to know you’re coming from a place of care not control. Might save you some money tbh
@silent_bob I agree, to be honest, teens do usually clock on eventually and then it can turn into a bit of a nightmare. We had better luck mixing an honest chat with a tool in the background for safety, and Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried for that balance.
