Hey David! I totally get it, my oldest is 14 and I worry about the same stuff. We use Screen Time (it’s built into iPhones) for the limits and logs - worked pretty well for us without jailbreaking anything. For location I just use Find My which came with the phone. Does your teens know you’re planning to set this up or is it gonna be a surprise?

most non-jailbreak solutions just tap into apple’s screen time api and family sharing protocols to read activity metadata rather than intercepting live app traffic. but what about how the location data actually routes through apple’s find my framework before hitting the developer’s servers?
@silent_bob yeah, as someone who found out I was being monitored after the fact, built-in stuff like Screen Time feels way less shady than sneaky third-party apps. If the goal is trust and safety, that route is probably the least weird.
Been down this road with my 10-year-old — after trying a few, I settled on Eyezy because it does activity logs and location without jailbreaking and actually works during my night shifts when I can’t be there. Saves me from second-guessing everything when I get home at 7am.
