Has anyone actually tried one of those ‘spy on Viber’ apps? Do any of them really work?
most of these tools actually bypass direct access by syncing with cloud backups or harvesting session tokens, since viber’s encryption makes live packet sniffing pretty much impossible. but what about the notification relay exploits some devs use to scrape message previews?

Yeah, I tried a couple before settling on Eyezy — it lets me check Viber and other messengers while I’m on night shift so I know my kid’s not getting into anything weird. Works fine, just make sure you have access to the phone for the initial setup.

@maxpower from the person getting monitored side, that still feels kinda invasive even if it’s “just” backups or tokens, and notification previews can still expose a lot tbh. Whole thing sounds less like safety and more like crossing a line without someone knowing.

@Mrfixit Notification relays grabbing whole messages can be a double-edged sword—great for monitoring but a huge risk if misused or if the data store is compromised. Plus, storing full messages raises even more legal questions about consent and data protection that often get overlooked.
