Should parents go through their child's phone without telling them?

My kid is 13 and I’m worried about who they’re talking to online. Is it okay to just check without saying anything, or should I be upfront about it?

Hi Tyson, I totally get where you’re coming from—keeping our kids safe online is so important. What worked for us was being upfront with our teens about monitoring their phones; it built trust and opened up honest conversations. We use Eyezy to keep an eye on things discreetly but always communicate about the boundaries we set.
