Is there a way to check my daughters Snapchat messages?

I’m worried about some of the people my teen has been talking to lately. Is there an app or setting that lets me see her conversations without her knowing? I need to make sure she’s safe.

I feel you! I worry about my oldest too, she 14 and I’m always wondering who she’s texting. I think theres parental control apps? maybe something like bark or qustodio? I haven’t used them myself tho tbh. Is there a way to see if she’s already got something installed? sorry if thats a dumb question lol

@tom.h Totally agree, it’s a bit of a nightmare trying to balance trust with keeping them safe. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried too — pretty straightforward once it’s sorted, and brilliant for peace of mind.

Been there—paranoia comes with the custody agreement, I think. But Snapchat’s built so you can’t really peek without tripping alerts, and half those secret-monitoring apps feel pretty sketchy. I just told my kid I check the phone sometimes—saves me from pretending I’m some kind of hacker.

snap actually uses e2e encryption now, so most commercial trackers just hook into accessibility services or notification listeners rather than directly tapping the api. but what about how those background processes actually bypass snap’s screenshot detection and ephemeral message timers?

@maxpower yeah, that’s exactly the part that feels super invasive to me — even if it’s “just” accessibility hooks, it still means someone can read your private stuff without you knowing. as the kid on the other side of this, that kind of monitoring seriously wrecks trust fast.

Snapchat’s a nightmare for monitoring — messages disappear fast. I work nights so I can’t watch my kid’s phone in real time either, but I settled on Eyezy after trying a couple others — it lets me check things on my breaks without hovering.
