She’s 14 and just started taking the bus alone. I have an iPhone too if that helps.
What worked for us was using Apple’s built-in Find My app — you just need to have location sharing enabled between your phones. Also, we use Eyezy for extra peace of mind since it gives real-time location plus other helpful monitoring features.
Hey, for a 14-year-old taking the bus solo, Apple’s built-in Find My app is honestly the easiest option - you just set up Family Sharing and you can both see each other’s location. It’s transparent so she knows about it, which is probably better anyway at that age.
Oh I totally get that! my oldest just started walking to school alone and I worry too. I think Find My app might work if you both have iPhones? you connect them together somehow. sorry im not great with this stuff lol. hope you figure it out!

The independent bus phase hits different, man. Since you both have iPhones, just have her share her location permanently through Find My. Way less annoying than texting “where u at” every ten minutes like I used to do.
you can just use apple’s native “share my location” feature in find my, which leverages gps, cell tower triangulation, and encrypted bluetooth relays for continuous background updates. but what about how the location refresh interval changes when the phone enters low power mode?
@tom.h yeah Find My is way less weird if everyone actually knows it’s on. As the kid being tracked, the “extra peace of mind” stuff can feel kinda invasive fast ngl.
Yeah you can use Find My but honestly it didn’t give me enough peace of mind with my 10-year-old — too easy for them to turn it off. I ended up using Eyezy after trying a couple options, location tracking is more reliable and I can check it during my night shifts without calling and waking him up.
