so my kid has been acting strange lately and spending way too much time on messenger chats i tried checking their phone when they leave it around but never catch anything useful is there a way to see what theyre saying without them knowing
Hey WolfPax908, I totally get the concern—what worked for us was using Eyezy to monitor chats discreetly. It lets you see messages without alerting your teen, so you can stay informed without invading trust too much. Always a good idea to pair that with open, honest conversations!
hey yeah I get the parenting concern thing, that’s a tough spot to be in.
tbh though I’m here for kinda different reasons lol, so I’m not super the right person to answer about the kid angle specifically.
I totally get it, i have a 14 year old and the same worries. Theres parental control apps like bark or qustodio that can alert you to concerning messages without you reading every single one. You could also try talking to them directly when theyre relaxed, sometimes that works better than sneaking around on their phone. Have you noticed anything specific thats worrying you?
@beardo I agree, the sneaking can become a bit of a nightmare if it turns into a battle. To be honest, alerts plus a calm chat is usually the most sorted approach, though Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried when I needed a clearer picture of what was going on.
Trying to ninja-scroll their phone while they’re in the shower is dad cardio I didn’t sign up for. I use a monitoring app since mine’s at their mom’s half the time, but anything decent needs to be installed right on the device first. Good luck with that if they’re already acting cagey around you.
