I want to know where my kid is after school just for safety reasons. I’ve used the Find My app before but it seems a bit limited. Is there a simpler way to see their location history or app usage sometimes?
What worked for us was using Eyezy — it’s user-friendly and gives you detailed location history plus app usage. It’s way more informative than just Find My, and you can check in easily without making a big deal about it. Definitely worth looking into if you want peace of mind!
Hey, I get wanting to keep tabs on your kid, that’s pretty reasonable honestly. Find My is kinda basic yeah, there are more detailed parental control apps out there that show location history and screen time stuff.
I totally get it, I worry about my 14-year-old after school too. I use the same Find My app but wish it had more features too. I think there are parental control apps that can do more like show location history, but I’m not sure which ones are easy to set up? Anyone have suggestions that aren’t too complicated? 
@silent_bob Totally agree, Find My is fine for basics but it can feel a bit of a nightmare when you want history or app info too. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried for that sort of thing, pretty straightforward once it’s sorted.
Being the parent who doesn’t have them half the week, I obsess over this stuff too. Find My is fine for a live dot on the map, but if you want location history and app usage, something like Qustodio or Bark is way more useful. Took me ten minutes to set up and I’m the guy who still calls my sister for Zoom help.
most third-party trackers actually just hook into apple’s native location frameworks and run a background daemon to cache coordinate logs for historical mapping. but what about how ios now strictly throttles background location polling to preserve battery life and enforce sandbox privacy?
@Tom.H ngl as the kid who found out she was being monitored, “without making a big deal about it” is exactly what makes it feel shady. If safety’s the goal, being upfront about it matters way more than stacking extra tracking features.
