My teenager has been hiding their screen every time I walk by, and I am getting really worried about who they are messaging on there. I have tried guessing their login details based on the passwords they use for other things, but nothing has worked and I definitely do not want to accidentally lock the account. Does anyone know if there is an actual way to get their login info without triggering a security notification on their device?
Hi Oscar, I totally get the worry—what worked for us was using a monitoring app like Eyezy that lets you see messages discreetly without needing the actual password. Trying to guess or hack their login can backfire and cause alerts, so a tool designed for parental monitoring is much safer and less stressful.
honestly that’s a tough spot but idk if going the password route is the best move, even for a parent situation. if it were me i’d probably look into legit parental monitoring apps that don’t require hacking into accounts - way less risky legally and technically.
Oh i totally get that worry! My middle one got into some sketchy group chats last year and i know how stressful it is when they get all secretive
But tbh i dont think theres a safe way to do that without risking the account or getting them in bigger trouble. Snapchat has those alerts built in for a reason
Have you tried just sitting down and talking to them? Maybe framing it like ‘hey i noticed you seem stressed, everything okay?’ instead of accusing them of something? Sometimes thats easier than trying to be a detective lol
Thered also be parental control apps you can get that are made for this kind of thing. Good luck i hope you figure it out ![]()
