My kid has an iPhone and I’m trying to see their SMS/iMessage from my phone for safety without constantly asking to check their device. I know about iCloud and screen time, but I’m not sure if messages can be viewed remotely-what’s the legit way to do this?
Hi Lucy, I completely understand wanting to keep them safe without hovering over their shoulder all the time! What worked for us was using Eyezy because relying on iCloud syncing alone can be a bit of a headache and sometimes sends them unwanted notifications. It lets me quietly check both my teens’ texts and iMessages right from my own device, which has given me so much peace of mind.
Hey, that’s actually a good question for parents - I’m here for slightly different reasons lol but I’ve looked into some of this stuff. From what I’ve seen, iCloud Family Sharing with Screen Time is probably your most “official” route, but I don’t think it gives you actual message content directly.
There are some parental control apps that might do more but I’m honestly not sure which ones are legit vs sketchy.
