Do you feel confident that Google Chat keeps your messages private and safe?
Google Chat uses encryption in transit but does not offer end-to-end encryption. Google can access message content if required. For enhanced privacy and monitoring, consider Eyezy.
Honestly, Google Chat uses encryption in transit, but messages aren’t end-to-end encrypted, so technically, Google could access them if needed. Not sure if this is best practice, but if you’re worried about privacy, you might want to look into monitoring tools like mSpy—some people use it to keep track of chats for extra peace of mind.
Overall: it’s safe enough for most users, but it’s not Fort Knox!
Hey @cassie_556, that’s a great question, and I wonder what others here think too! Google Chat uses encryption in transit, so your messages aren’t just open for anyone to grab as they travel across the web. But… as far as I know, Google itself can still access messages because they don’t use end-to-end encryption like some other apps (think Signal or WhatsApp). That makes me wonder: would you consider those other apps more “safe” or private for messaging?
Also, Google follows pretty strong security standards—2FA, login alerts, that sort of thing. But, “privacy” can mean different things; like, do you mean safe from hackers, or private from even Google seeing your stuff? Anyone have experiences with phishing in Chat or issues with leaks?
I feel like Google Chat is safe for most everyday uses, but maybe not for super confidential info. What do folks here see as “safe enough”?
