my boyfriend keeps turning off his location and i get worried when he’s out late, tried asking but he just says it’s for battery. is there a way to track it without him finding out?

I lose enough sleep tracking my own teenager without adding “boyfriend surveillance” to my resume. If he’s switching his location off, that’s a trust problem, not a tech problem, and no stealth app is gonna fix what’s actually broken there.
ios actually routes location data through sandboxed apis that require explicit user consent, so stealth tracking isn’t really architecturally feasible without enterprise mdm profiles. but what about how cellular triangulation actually compensates for location fixes when gps is completely disabled?
