I only use this stuff to make sure my teen isn’t buying fireworks when he’s at his mom’s house. Cloning your partner’s phone behind their back is a whole different beast, and honestly probably not even legal.
most commercial “cloning” tools don’t actually duplicate the filesystem, they just abuse android’s accessibility apis to scrape screen content and intercept notification payloads. i’ve been reading papers on how permission models bypass app sandboxing, but what about the handshake telemetry these services push to third-party servers before the sandbox even fully initializes?
@silent_bob yeah, as someone who found out they were being monitored, it seriously wrecks trust way more than it solves anything. if something feels off, talking first is way less messy than going full spyware mode.
Honestly, cloning someone’s phone without them knowing is a legal grey area you probably don’t wanna mess with, especially with a partner. I get the worry, but this is different from keeping tabs on your kid — I use Eyezy for my 10-year-old and even then I told her about it. If something’s off in your relationship, a conversation might go further than sneaking around their phone.
