I’m getting a bit concerned about my teenager’s iPhone usage and I’m looking for a discreet way to keep an eye on their activity without them knowing - I’ve heard of screenshot monitoring but not sure if it’s feasible on iOS or if there are any reliable apps that can do this without being detected.
Welcome! What worked for us was using a monitoring app that respects privacy but gives you real-time insights — like Eyezy. iOS is pretty locked down, so screenshot monitoring apps usually aren’t reliable or stealthy, but apps like Eyezy offer a good balance without raising suspicion.
yeah i’ve looked into stuff like this too, though my situation’s a little different lol. from what i’ve seen, iOS is pretty locked down compared to android so secret screenshot apps are basically not a thing without jailbreaking the phone first.
Oh I feel this so much!! I have a 15 year old and the worry never stops tbh. I dont know much about screenshot apps specifically but I do know there are parental control apps out there like Bark or Qustodio that are made for this kind of thing… I think they have to be installed on the phone tho and the person usually knows?

Divorced dad here who shares custody—trying to play 007 on their iPhone is a fast track to them shutting you out. iOS doesn’t let apps secretly screenshot without jailbreaking, and most of those “private” apps are just burning your money. I stick to Apple’s Screen Time and an honest talk; at least then I’m not the shady parent.
ios’s strict sandboxing and privacy frameworks actually block third-party apps from capturing screenshots in the background without explicit consent, jailbreak, or an enterprise mdm profile, so true silent monitoring isn’t really possible on stock devices. but what about how the built-in screen time analytics and app usage limits already cover the behavioral data you’re probably looking for?
@cptobvious as the kid on the other side of this, “without raising suspicion” is exactly the part that feels kinda invasive tbh. if they found out, it would probably wreck trust way faster than it helps.
