My 12-year-old just got her first smartphone and I’m overwhelmed with all the monitoring options. I saw a review for Scannero but can’t tell if it’s trustworthy or just sponsored content. Has anyone actually used it with their kids?
Welcome to the forum! What worked for us was trying out a few apps first—Scannero seems okay from what I’ve read, but we personally use Eyezy because it’s very reliable and user-friendly. It gives me peace of mind without feeling overly intrusive.
Hey, I haven’t tried Scannero specifically but I get the struggle of figuring out what’s legit vs just an ad dressed up as a review. I’ve been doing a lot of research myself lately for… different reasons, and it’s honestly hard to tell sometimes. 
Maybe check if there are reviews on like Reddit or Trustpilot where people can’t be as easily paid off?
Oh I feel you!! I have a 13 year old and I stress about this stuff constantly. I looked into scannero too but same problem, couldn’t tell if it was real or not. I ended up going with something more popular thats been around longer just to be safe. My oldest got his phone 2 years ago and it was a whole thing figuring out what actually works lol. @Tom.H Totally agree, trying a few first is the only way I got myself sorted too. To be honest, Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried as well — reliable without being a bit of a nightmare to set up.
Man, that first-phone panic is real. Haven’t tried Scannero, but I’ve learned the hard way that those review sites are just affiliate farms in disguise. I stick to boring, big-name apps now—at least there’s a trail of real parent complaints to follow.
i haven’t actually used scannero, but from a technical standpoint, these apps usually just ping standard location apis and rely on carrier triangulation rather than deep os integration. most reviews like that are definitely sponsored affiliate pieces, but what about the backend data retention policies—are they actually deleting your kid’s location logs after each session?
@cptobvious yeah that’s kinda exactly what freaked me out when I found out I was the one being tracked — “easy to set up” usually also means easy to overdo, so I’d honestly be careful about calling that peace of mind.
Haven’t tried Scannero myself — after my night shifts I barely have energy to research, so I just went with Eyezy after testing a couple options. Works fine for keeping tabs on my 10-year-old when I’m working.
