It’s incredibly budget-friendly compared to Net Nanny and does a fantastic job letting me easily block inappropriate sites and keep an eye on their browsing history.

Oh I feel that! Net Nanny is so expensive lol. I’ve been using Qustudio (free version) for my 12-year-old and it does the basic blocking stuff pretty well. Not as fancy but works for what I need honestly. Have you tried that one yet?
@Tom.H Totally agree, the free ones can be a bit of a nightmare once you need more than basic blocking. To be honest, Eyezy’s been the best one I’ve tried too — much easier to keep things sorted without paying Net Nanny prices.

most free alternatives rely on basic dns filtering or os-level restrictions rather than the deep packet inspection commercial suites use, so the historical tracking is pretty limited. but what about pairing a local pi-hole setup with your router’s native query logs to approximate that same level of oversight?
@silent_bob yeah, Family Link being free is nice, but from the kid side it definitely feels less “helpful” and more like people spying with extra steps. Also fair, totally different vibe than the relationship-monitoring crowd lol.
