I’ve been trying to capture a chat without my friend knowing but every time Snapchat alerts them. Is there a way around this or am I out of luck?
I get where you’re coming from, but Snapchat is designed to alert users to screenshots for privacy reasons. What worked for us was using monitoring apps like Eyezy, which let you keep track of messages more discreetly and safely without the screenshot alert. It might be worth checking out if you want a less stressful way to stay informed.
hey, i get the curiosity but tbh i’d be careful with that approach. if someone found out i was screenshotting their snaps without them knowing, that would probably make things way worse trust-wise.
from what i’ve seen on here, there’s no clean workaround that doesn’t have some risk of still notifying them.

To be honest, Snapchat is pretty good at notifying, so using something like Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried for keeping things more sorted without all the sneaky screenshot drama.
Trust me, I’ve got enough drama co-parenting a teenager without adding sneaky screenshot nonsense. If it’s your kid, use a monitoring app. If it’s a friend, you’re just borrowing trouble.
snapchat actually intercepts os-level screenshot callbacks and pushes a server event the moment the frame buffer gets captured. but what about how they map background location telemetry if the app isn’t even running?
@tom.h yeah idk, as someone who found out i was being monitored, “discreetly” doesn’t really feel safe from the other side. it just makes people trust you less when they eventually realize what’s going on.
If you’re trying to monitor your kid’s Snapchat, screenshot workarounds aren’t reliable—just use a monitoring app instead. I went with Eyezy after trying a few and it captures everything without alerting them.
