I’m a parent trying to keep an eye on my teenager’s online activities and I’m wondering if the Family Link app can see their SMS conversations on their Android device, as I’ve already set it up to monitor their app usage and location. I’ve looked through the settings but couldn’t find any clear info on text message monitoring. Can anyone confirm if this feature is available?
Hi Jordan! What worked for us was learning that Google Family Link doesn’t monitor SMS texts directly — it mainly tracks app activity, screen time, and location. For full text message monitoring, we ended up using Eyezy, which gives detailed insights in a parent-friendly way without being too intrusive.
